My name is Colleen
A few years ago I wasn’t in a very nice place internally. I was really struggling to except myself for I was and honestly I really didn’t like myself. I felt like who I was, wasn’t as important or valued as much as other people. I simply wasn’t good enough…I remember walking through town one-day thinking how I wasn’t as important as everyone else who were walking past me. What I had to say in conversations wasn’t important. I even thought people wouldn’t want to know me if they ever knew the real me. Thinking about this now and how I felt about myself is absolute madness!!! It’s crazy that I felt like that. I believed those negative voices and that self-critic. They just wouldn’t stop especially at night. I was stuck in a rut of low confidence, shame, & self-doubt.
It's was time to...
Take back control
I knew I had to do something. I knew this wasn’t how I wanted to live my life & I needed to find a way out of that dark tunnel. I was looking for something but I didn’t know what. The only person that was going to get me out of this was ME! Not my family, friends or partner, but ME!!
In my job I always tell people that action must be taken to achieve results. It was time to take my own advice. Thankfully a friend mentioned to me a self-development course. I looked up what it had to offer and the outcomes I’d gain if I put did the work. In a space of a few weeks, I learnt how to quiet the negative voice in my head, replace it with nicer thoughts, and understand what made me feel stuck and in a rut.
Remember...
Change starts with you
Our own suffering starts with us. We can’t expect ourselves to lead a healthy life, or be a happy person if we focus on the negative & keep repeating unhealthy habits. If we learn to be happy within ourselves then taking action in our daily life and creating a healthy mind will set us free. Now, i’m so happy and understand that working on myself is so vital for me to be the person i want to be. Whether it through mediation, gratitude, mindset, exercise or a lot of self-love. Be your own hero! I was my own hero for taking action and pulling myself out of that horrible place. Now i’m in a happy relation, love my job and have wonderful relationships with friends and family. And you can too. Just Take Action! In the words of Wayne Dyer, “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change” Starting my self-development journey & creating healthy daily habits turned my life around. And you can too…..
